Commodities/TEFAP

Commodities/Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP):

Woodland Action is the local distribution site for commodities provided under the USDA. This is a “federal program that helps supplement the diets of low-income Americans, including elderly people, by providing them with emergency food and nutrition assistance at no cost.” We distribute this food assistance to residents of both Clark and Cowlitz counties.

Distribution is during regular food bank hours on TUESDAY.

Woodland Action’s core program is distribution of healthy food, personal hygiene, and household items to low-income individuals and families.

Food Bank Distribution Hours:

Saturday       11am - 5:00pm

Summer Hours: 11am-4:45pm

To sign up to receive food, come by Woodland Action Food Bank on distribution day and check in with our in-take specialist.  If you need longer to shop, or don't enjoy crowds, please come later in the day.

We are experiencing EXTREMELY high numbers of new clients on Saturdays so would like to remind everyone:

  •  Clients should not arrive more than 15 minutes prior to our start time of 11am.

  • A volunteer will issue random numbers at 11am. Remain where you are, a volunteer will come to you. Arriving hours early will not ensure your being served quicker.

  • This is your number in line for the day. Please listen for numbers being called over the intercom.

  •  If you are not present when your number is called, you will lose your place in line and issued a new number.

  • The first group of 1-10 may enter the building upon being called and proceed to the check-in window. Subsequent groups of 5 to 10 will be called when lobby space is permitting.

  • Please allow others their personal space and do not crowd or push.

  • Do not block the doorway or ramp area during distribution.

Woodland Action requests that all food bank participants behave appropriately and treat all staff, volunteers, and other participants with respect and dignity.
